To love oneself
Is to be humble,
And to be wise.
To be understanding
And a blessing to other lives.
It doesn’t need to compare.
Because it knows you are greatly valued,
Understands you are treasured,
And sees that you matter—
Not just to someone, but for so many.
To love oneself is to know simply
Why and how you are worthy.
Because you are worthy.
To love oneself is not arrogance; it doesn’t deny that we are all imperfect.
But it is to be confident and knowing that in spite of it,
You are still worth it.
It is knowing self-worth,
Not wishing harm or hurt.
Because when you see you’re unconditionally loved,
you give yourself a fighting chance,
And finally you find you deserve that dance.
To have love for yourself allows you to love and not judge.
And in the end, that’s what really counts.
Because to love oneself is only the beginning of a lifelong romance.
